Can I tell what size my futon is by looking at it?
No. I can't tell you how many times some one has come into our store over the years looking for a new futon cover convinced that they have a Queen. They look at a futon on the floor and say "Mine is that big, it's a queen". Of course they are surprised to find out that they are pointing at a full futon.
But my Queen sheets fit on my futon!
Sure they fit. Queens are 5" longer and 6" wider than a Full so they will fit, albeit slightly over sized.
On to the measuring....
The easiest, and most fool proof method, is to measure the distance in between the arms of the sofa. That is, from the inside of one arm, to the inside of the other.
- Full will measure 72"-75" (it varies slightly from manufacture to manufacture).
- Queen will measure 77'-80"
But my frame isn't assembled! No worries :-) If you have access to all of the frame pieces, locate one of the stretcher rails. The stretcher rail looks like a long 1" x 4" ish board.
